The Mysterines celebrate their debut album ‘Reeling’ with first North American tour

Introducing Amazon’s Music UK Ones To Watch 2022…The Mysterines! This alternative rock band originating from Liverpool recently released their DEBUT album Reeling, born out of the pandemic.

Making up The Mysterines, we’ve got Lia Metcalfe on vocals and guitar, George Favager on bass, Callum Thompson on guitar, and Paul Crilly on drums. Previously, they’ve supported Royal Blood and The Amazons and Sea Girls, then headlined BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds. With a history of success after success, this band is taking over the global music scene.

Over the course of 3 weeks within lockdowns, their debut album ‘Reeling’ was born under producer Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice, The Big Moon, PJ Harvey).

I wanted it to be one word, and I think we all enjoyed the song ‘Reeling’ quite a lot. It sums the record up, everything that was trying to be said is in that song. The definition of ‘reeling’ is like so many. If you’re angry, you can be described as reeling. If you’re upset, you can be described as reeling. If you’re grieving, you’re reeling. It just felt pretty connected to everything and inspired the whole album in some way.
— Lia Metcalfe on the creation of ‘Reeling’ album

Calling all the rising artists and bands out there who can’t decide on a stage name, here’s how The Mysterines invented theirs:

We actually got the ‘Mysterines’ name from a mouthwash called ‘Listerine’.
— Lia Metcalfe

Your name can literally come from ANYTHING, and if that’s worked for The Mysterines then it will work for you!

Be nice to each other. For fuck’s sake!
— Lia Metcalfe reflecting on the band's past

Following the release of their debut album ‘Reeling’ with Fiction Records, they are officially heading on their FIRST North American tour starting in May 2022! So grab your tickets ASAP and listen to Reeling:
