New Music Alert: Amelia Moore drops debut ep ‘teaching a robot how to love’

Are you ready to meet your new fav alt pop artist? Meet Amelia Moore, the rising singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Amelia is the definition of a good vibe, she is very laid-back, honest, relatable, down-to-earth, and yet, upbeat. However, her passion for music and sincerity in telling her own stories shines through whenever she speaks. Starting her musical journey at four years old with a violin, she felt as though her training for those seven years allowed her to gain a good ear when it comes to music. This musical journey amplified her interest in playing more instruments, and possibly incorporating live instruments in future songs and albums.

Like Amelia says, “What you see is what you get!” In her debut EP, teaching a robot to love, we see her dive more into pop than any other genre. But at the same time, Amelia claims that the album will be “sonically and lyrically cohesive” in the robot universe and metal sounding world. This album will take you on the journey of falling in love for the first time, to the heartbreak of a failed relationship. Though it is definitely on trend with bad relationships in music, this ep will be more playful and align with the post-breakup girlboss vibe we NEED! Robot is the new word to describe toxic partners that's for sure. [Fun Fact: the album name was inspired through a cards against humanities game with her friends!]

As this being her first album rollout, she felt that she was able to be “nit picky” and “particular” with this project and was really able to dig into the vibe she wanted to portray to the listener. What is the best way to listen to this album? In the words of Amelia, “Get your partner to dump (lol jk), but sit down, pull up the lyrics, eat a snack, and take it all in track by track. NO shuffling! Listen with friends [closely] and really soak in the lyrics.”

Amelia continues to show the hope for independent artists that may be seeking to be signed by a label. She strives to create authentic music true to herself and her fans. This is such an inspiring aspect to look for in an artist. Her other top five advice for independent artists?:

1. Perfection is not real, don’t be afraid to fail, and if you do, fail forward.

2. STAY CURIOUS FORREAL, ask questions and have fun!

3. Journal to get all your thoughts out of your head before writing.

4. Talking with friends about a specific concept that could be a vibe.

5. When writing her heartbreak songs, “Not all songs will be sad heartbreak songs but some talking her shit.” (which we love to see!)

Amelia Moore’s debut EP, teaching a robot to love, is available on all platforms, so go ahead and listen to your heart’s desire! With this advice, I hope all the artists reading this go out and make music that is true and authentic to you. Stay creative, my stars!
